The new shop will be done tomorrow!! Yeah!! I did not get much time to work on it this past week so I will be finishing it up tomorrow. Just in time too because I have an order I need to print by Monday. I get so busy with work and life in general that I am not able to work on screen printing as much as I would like. I will be so happy when I can screen print full time.
My whole screen printing adventure started because I wanted to design shirts to show my love for dogs. Because most of my time is spent working on my own designs, I have not been promoting my screen printing services to others. I have taken a few small orders from friends but nothing huge. I had no idea how to price those orders so I just did it on the fly. I called a few local screen printing companies to see what they would charge for the job and then I went with a price in between the two highest bids. I made a few mistakes doing it this way but it worked at the time.
That method of pricing worked but I knew I would need a price sheet in the future. I will be launching my online store in the next month so now I can start promoting my services to others. This past week I have researched how other companies price their work. Most of the price sheets I looked at were very similar. Some of the things they charged for were things I had not considered. I do not want my quotes too high but I also do not want to work for free. I will finalize my price sheet this weekend so I will be ready when I start taking on more orders.
