This weekend I will be working on two 4-color print jobs. The designs are hand sketched dinosaurs. The first thing I had to do was hand trace the drawings and outline them in black ink. Then I was able to scan them into CorelDraw and use the TRACE feature to trace the drawings. The TRACE feature is pretty cool. Once your drawing is traced, it becomes a VECTOR graphic and then you can manipulate it as much as you want. I didn't really add much to the drawings because they are so cute all by themselves.
The first drawing was easy to color because I only needed to use four colors. The second one is a bit tricky and I am still playing around with it. Because I only have a 4-color press, I am only able to do four colors per design unless I try 4-color process and I am not ready to venture into that area yet. I can use the shirt color as one color, which would allow me to make the design a five colors. I will have to see how that looks.
I definitely would like to take some computer graphics classes, specifically CorelDraw and Photoshop. The community college here offers lots of Photoshop classes but I have not found a CorelDraw class that fits my needs. Photoshop seems to be the program of choice but I prefer CorelDraw because it is much easier to learn.
Lots to do....Later!

4 colors process .. need often 5 frames ... CMYK but on black t-shirt you need to do a first white "layer" before printing all 4 color process .. I have 4 colors press too .. and what i'm doing it's WHITE CMY and don't print last black ... not really the best to do .. but it works !
