KEEP MOVING FORWARD

You would think with all the computer technology available, starting a business would be easier then in the past.  Well, I am here say....not a chance.  Computers and the Internet have made some things easier, especially for us little guys.  But it has also given us so much work to do. 
If you own a business in this day and age, you better have a website for it.  If you want to increase your customer base, well then you need to join Twitter and have a Fan Page on Facebook and MySpace and this and that.  You need to join forums to do some chit chat with fellow business owners.  To keep people up to date on products or services...a blog is a must.  All of these things take time.  You need time to post a blog entry.  You need time to check your Fan Page and respond to your growing fan base.  Do not forget to send a TWEET when something cool happens.  And let us not forget YouTube.  Videos!  Wow, that is a whole different animal. 

And do not forget of course, you have a business to run and products to sell.  That is the reason for your business right?  Answer the phone, take orders, ship products, create products, marketing and advertising.  You might be able to add sleep in the mix.  Maybe!!

You are probably wondering if its all worth it.  All this madness.  My answer is, without a doubt...YES!!  I wouldn't trade it for anything.  I have total strangers as fans on Facebook.  They are no longer strangers.  Now we have a connection.  How cool is that?  I can post a video on YouTube and have someone I have never met post a comment that says, "Thanks for the video.  Keep them coming."  Incredible.

Starting a business is definitely not a walk in the park.  Honestly, it does get overwhelming at times.  Some days I wonder if I will ever get this business off the ground.  But I just keep moving forward, day by day, and I know things will fall into place.  I am writing this post because I know there are some of you out there that get frustrated and overwhelmed.  With so much to do, who wouldn't be frustrated.  But I say, if owning a business is truly what you want, do not give up.  Things will fall into place.
