EXPOSING SCREENS

Today I am working with my new UV RXP exposure unit from Ryonet.  WOW!!!  I am used to burning my screens for 12 minutes then waiting for the glass to cool before I could burn another screen.  Not anymore.  With the UV exposure unit, I burned my first screen for the recommended 3 minutes 45 seconds and it washed out beautifully.  I am all ready to go with my next screen.  No more waiting for the glass to cool off.  This particular design does not have any detail so I am anxious to burn a screen with a detailed image.

I made one mistake with the screen.  I burned the image in the wrong place.  I needed to burn it more in the middle of the screen.  This particular design will go on a tote bag.  Tote bags slip over the platen with the top of the bag towards the press so your final print will be right side up, not upside down like a t-shirt print.  I hope that makes sense.

It is so nice to have  upgraded equipment.  My other equipment did the job but the new stuff is so much better.  Within 10 minutes I re-printed my transparency, burned a screen and washed out the image.  Nice!!

More screens to do.....by for now!
