Today I printed my first multi-color design. YEAH!! I had a small issue lining up the outline but it only took a few minutes to do adjustments with the screen. FINALLY!!! I have wanted to add color to my designs for months. Over the weekend I figured out how to close the gap in the colors. (See last post) I will be putting a few designs into production at the end of the week. I can not wait to finally show everyone my stuff.
My new best friend is CITRA-PASTE! It is a biodegradable screen wash for plastisol ink. WOW, this stuff is amazing. I was using the Screen Wash 147 but could not seem to get all the ink out of the screen. The CITRA-PASTE took all the ink off the screen in a matter of minutes and I did not even have to waste paper towels or shop towels. I scrapped all the excess ink back into its container. Then I took the screens to the wash out room, sprayed a little Citra-Paste on the ink side of the screen, agitated both sides with a soft sponge and sprayed it off with my garden house. AMAZING! This works great if you plan on saving your image. The soft sponge does not affect the emulsion or mess with your image. My screens are clean and ready to go for the next time I print. You can find CITRA-PASTE at my favorite screen printing supplier, www.silkscreeningsupplies.com.
As I mentioned earlier, I will finally be putting a few dog designs into production at the end of the week. I have an order for baseball shirts that I need to finish for Saturday. I am not planning on taking any more custom orders for awhile. I have a few more to finish but I really need to focus all my energy on my dog designs.
I have a PHOTO CONTEST planned for October so be sure to stay tuned. Make sure you are a fan on my Facebook page. :)

ReplyDeleteGlad you figured out the overprint, too. I was way off with what I thought you meant but, after reading these last two posts, I get it now. Sorry about that!
