During washout, I used a garden hose. A pressure washer is much better because it puts less water on the screen but at a higher pressure. My logo took at least five minutes to washout with the hose. It would have taken maybe 45 seconds with a pressure washer. I have a pressure washer on order. I cannot wait! :) It is SO much easier to do a job when you have the right tools.
My washout room is my extra bathroom. I taped plastic around the inside of the shower so I do not get emulsion or anything else on the walls. An extra shower bar is handy to hang your light, towels, scrub brushes etc. When I am all done, I just pull the shower curtain closed and everything is out of sight.
The screen stand I used was something I made out of PVC pipe. It keeps the screen out of the water and makes it easy on my back. I made the stand out of the following:
8’ x 1” PVC (2)
1” PVC elbows (10)
1” PVC T’s (4)
Cut PVC into following pieces:
3 @ 15” (middle braces)
4 @ 14” (legs)
2 @ 20” (back brace)
2 @ 2 ½” (part of middle brace)
2 @ 5” (in front of middle brace)
2 @ 6 ¾” (screen sits on this)
The washout went well. The image turned out great but I have not had time to print a shirt. :( I will let you know when I print it.
Thanks,
Jeanette
SUPER-cool screen stand, Jeanette! Very nice job. I might have to steal your plans and make my own. ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your blog post, and I am loving all of your home made projects. You have definitely been a big help so far and I have yet to do anything but buy stuff and make a mess. I hope my venture actually comes to fruition soon.
