And so the adventure begins.....

Welcome everyone to my blog. I am about to embark on quite an adventure and I hope that you follow me along on my journey. What adventure, you ask? Well, I had an idea for a t-shirt and now that has blossomed into my desire to start a business with my own screen-printed designs. Over the next year (and hopefully longer), I will be learning all aspects of the screen-printing industry as well as launch my business and website. Through written entries and videos, I will be sharing all my trials, errors and successes.

It will be quite a learning experience but I am up for the challenge. My hopes are that this blog will help others that are interested in venturing into the screen-printing industry. So far, it has been a blast and I cannot wait to learn more.

Before I go any further though, I want to give a HUGE and I mean HUGE shout out to Ryan Moore of Ryonet, his staff, Silkscreeningsupplies.com and ryonetblog.com. Without them, this blog would not be possible and my screen printing adventure would be taking a very different road.

I entered a screen-printing package giveaway sponsored by Ryonet and silkscreeningsupplies.com. I did not win. In fact, I did not even make the top 10. You would think, “End of contest”, right? Nice try…better luck next time. Well, I was and still am astonished at the level of commitment Ryonet has for their customers to succeed. Not only did the winner of the contest win, everyone that entered the contest won some screen printing equipment. WOW! That level of commitment is why Ryonet is a 2010 member of INC. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in America. The level of customer service they provide is out of this world. Please check them out. I think they are an incredible company. So, thank you Ryonet! I cannot wait to receive the equipment and launch my business to a completely new level.

Now, I am pretty much a novice to the screen printing industry so I have TONS to learn. My first design was the outline of two dogs I had drawn. That might sound boring to some people but for someone who could barely draw a stick person six months prior, it was AWESOME. Seeing my goofy little dogs on a shirt was all I needed to become hooked on the screen-printing process. My love of dogs became the inspiration for my designs and that led to the creation of my business, The Pondering Pooch, hence the name of my blog.

Thanks to Ryonet, in a few days I will have the equipment I need to really dig in and learn how to screen-print my own shirts. If you are new to screen-printing, visit often and we can learn this together. If you are a seasoned professional, my hopes are that you will be willing to share your knowledge and expertise with my readers and me. I am so excited to learn the whole screen-printing process and value any questions, comments or feedback you are willing to give.

See you soon!
Jeanette
